Grace Wood (nee Ferguson), of Walkerton passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Monday, December 24th, 2018. She was 89.

Loving mother of Scott (Jane) of St. Catharines, Steven (Paula) of Harriston, Susan (Dan) Dunne of Hanover and Michael of London. Cherished grandmother of Laura, David, Joshua, Sonja, Tom, Mikayla, Halie and Lucas and great-grandmother of Penelope, Emelia, Evelyn, Leah, Shiloh and Jahmiel.

Grace was predeceased by her husband Wally; brothers Earl (Lil) Ferguson and Jack (Marg) Ferguson; sisters Irene (Bob) Yates, Nora (Harold) Cushman and Lola Ferguson and parents John and Mabel (nee Baker) Ferguson.

Grace's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 28th, 2018 at Walkerton Baptist Church, Walkerton (120 Cayley Street) beginning at 11:00 am until time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Rev. David Williams officiating.

Interment in Walkerton Cemetery, Walkerton.

Grace was born and raised in Walkerton, youngest daughter to Police Chief John Ferguson and Mother Mabel Ferguson. In her early years she was a Manager of Robert Simpson Co. Ltd. London, then she worked at the Sears order office in Walkerton. Later she was secretary to principle Cy Washington at the Walkerton District High School where she met her husband Wally who was a drum instructor. Later after raising four children she became the assistant manager of the Sears order office in Walkerton.

Grace was a faithful member of the Walkerton Baptist Church, a Deaconess and member of the Women’s Mission Circle where she served as Secretary for a number of years.

Grace was an amazing cook, loved knitting and reading and was eager to learn and keep up with current events and history.

She lovingly cared for her husband Wally who suffered from Parkinson’s Disease. They were a rooted couple whose children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss them dearly until they are all reunited again.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Walkerton Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
